With a victory over the UAE men’s national football team on Tuesday (18), Iraq secured a place in the playoff to try to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With both teams, next year’s tournament already has seven Arab countries confirmed. Iraq and the United Arab Emirates are still competing for a spot.

The Gulf country will host matches in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and Neom. The organization also announced Morocco as one of the host countries for the 2030 World Cup.
According to apex body Qatar Tourism, visitor numbers in 2023 were a five-year high.
The North African national team qualified for the round of 16 of the tournament after beating Colombia this Thursday (3). Morocco will face France next week.
