Brasília – The Brazilian balance of trade recorded a surplus, i.e. a positive result for exports minus imports, of US$ 3.135 billion in July, according to figures supplied by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, disclosed this Monday (1st). In the same month of 2010, the trade surplus reached US$ 1.344 billion.
Last month, exports reached US$ 22.252 billion, at an average of US$ 1.059 billion per working day. Imports stood at US$ 19.117 billion, at an average of US$ 910.3 million per working day.
From January to July, the trade surplus reached US$ 16.101 billion, as against US$ 9.230 billion in the same period of 2010. In the first seven months of the year, exports reached US$ 140.555 billion, at a daily average of US$ 969.3 million. Imports stood at US$ 124.454 billion, at an average of US$ 858.3 million per working day.
