Brasília – Brazilian exports reached US$ 2.781 billion in the first week of January, whereas imports reached US$ 3.267 billion. The figures resulted in a trade deficit of US$ 486 million.
Daily average exports dropped by 1.6% compared with January last year, and by 38.8% compared with last December. Imports have grown by 13.8% compared with the same month of 2010, and dropped by 3.4% compared with December.
The preliminary figures were disclosed late this morning (10th) by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
