Brasília – With imports decreasing more than exports, Brazil posted a USD 3.974 billion surplus in June. Year-to-date through June, a USD 23.635 billion surplus was recorded, the highest ever for the period.
Despite the H1 record, the surplus in June was down 12.3% from USD 4.529 billion surplus in June 2015. In July, exports from Brazil stood at USD 16.743 billion, down 18.6% from June 2015 based on daily averages. Imports reached USD 12.77 billion, a 19.3% drop.
Year-to-date through June, exports amounted to USD 90.237 billion, down 5.9% from a year ago. Imports reached USD 66.602 billion, down 28.9%.
