São Paulo – Vale’s pellet plant in Oman, located in Sohar, registered a record output of 2.5 million tons in Q3 of 2017, the company reported in a statement. The volume surpassed in 27.7% the results of Q2, when one of the plant’s line was shut down for 37 days between April and May, and in 7.1% against Q3 2016.
In all, with all its plants, Vale produced 12.8 million pellets between July and September, up 4.5% over the Q2 of this year and up 5.8% over the same period of last year. According to the company, productivity increased and there were less maintenance stoppages in the period.
The output of iron ore, the company’s main product, was a record in the last quarter, reaching 95.1 million tons.
