São Paulo – Union of Arab Chambers secretary-general Khaled Hanafy said the Arabic version of ANBA will be very useful to his organization and could impact Brazil’s economic relations with Middle East and North Africa countries. “Of course, we expect direct and indirect impacts on various levels of economic and trade relations like never before,” said Hanafy in an interview via messaging.
The Union is the League of Arab States’ private sector arm, comprising chambers of commerce and industry located in Arab countries and elsewhere – as is the case with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. “For more than six decades, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has been working to connect the Brazilian and Arab peoples to promote economic, social and cultural development, playing a pivotal role in developing the relationship between these two peoples over the years. The new version of the website is quite in line with the modern mission of the Chamber,” said Hanafy.

ANBA – Do you think the Arabic version of the Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA) will be an important tool for fostering information exchange between Brazilians and Arabs?
Khaled Hanafy – First, I would like to congratulate you for launching the Arabic version of the Brazil Arab News Agency. It will surely be an instrumental tool to create connections, share knowledge, ideas and experiences and hence foster the exchange of information.
In your opinion, will this new version of the website help the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce fulfill its mission to connect Brazilians and Arabs wherever they are?
For more than six decades, the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has been working to connect the Brazilian and Arab peoples to promote economic, social and cultural development, playing a pivotal role in developing the relationship between these two peoples over the years. The new version of the website is quite in line with the modern mission of the Chamber, as it is business friendly, easy to use, [uses] social networking, and quite rich with information that is essential for Arab – Brazilian relations and business. The website now sits perfectly as part of the Chamber’s overall development plans.
Is it correct to say that a tool like this should help raise awareness of business opportunities for Brazilians in the Arab World and for Arabs in Brazil?
Of course, we expect direct and indirect impacts on various levels of economic and trade relations like never before.
Do you think ANBA in Arabic can help the work of the Union of Arab Chambers in some way?
ANBA will be highly useful for the Union of Arab Chambers in promoting Arab exports, investment, and business opportunities that serve the mutual goals of the Arab-Brazilian economic relations. It represents a reliable and an objective source of information, and we count on it to increase the awareness of the Arab business communities with useful information that help them fulfill their endeavors to serve their own countries, as well as the common aspirations with the Brazilian business society.
And the network of Arab chambers of commerce in general, can our new website aid in their work?
For sure, each member of the network of the Union of Arab Chambers will find the website quite beneficial and crucial to serve the joint business relations between Brazil and their countries. The Union of Arab Chambers and all its member Chambers highly appreciate the inspiring initiatives and efforts of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and wish you and all the team of the Chamber continuous success in the future.
