Brasília – After going up 13 straight years, air passenger numbers slid by 6.9% in Brazil last year. The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) reported a total of 109.6 million, including 88.7 million passengers on domestic flights and 20.9 million in international ones.
Anac presented the Brazilian air travel industry’s 2016 results this Friday (30). “In the past two years, the air travel industry struggled with recession in Brazil, and this had a direct impact on performance,” the agency said. The number of domestic and international flights dropped by 11.4% and 7.9%.
