São Paulo – A survey conducted by the HSBC bank among 3,100 expatriates around the world revealed that Bahrain is the most welcoming nation to foreign workers and their families. The survey considered aspects such as health insurance, comfortable housing at good pricing, ease of social integration, food, entertainment, transport and education.
Thirty one expatriates in Bahrain answered the survey, in which the country was considered the best for integrating with the local communities and obtaining a health insurance plan. The interviewees stated that it is more difficult to make local friends and learn the languages (Arabic, Farsi and Urdu), but the country ranked among the five first with regard to settling into housing, organizing the finances and finding a good school.
The United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom had the lowest scores in the ranking of integration. Foreigners in the Emirates claimed to find it difficult to become integrated with local communities, and only 39% made Arab friends.
