Damascus – President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has arrived in Syria to begin his Middle East trip. According to minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, there are excellent chances for Brazil to boost exports to the Syria, especially in the areas of automobiles and food, such as juices.
Furlan admitted that Syria remains a non-market economy with a strong government presence. Recently the state has further expanded into the economy by taking over companies.
