São Paulo – The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) launched this Tuesday (2nd) in Brasília, the new version of the Query System on Tariffs, Rules of Origin and Services of Brazilian Trade Agreements (Capta, in the Portuguese acronym). The website was developed with the support of the United Kingdom embassy in Brasília and the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).
According to information from the MDIC, the new system is divided in four modules. The first gathers data about tax exemptions given by Brazil through the Generalized System of Preferences, which benefits goods from developing countries through tax reduction.
Another module presents the rules required by a destination so the exporter can adapt its products for that specific country. The system also allows one to check on the tariff charged over an exports operation. The last module presents the lists of commitments of the services sector and other members of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The new system is available in Portuguese, Spanish and English at http://capta.mdic.gov.br/.
