Brasília – The Brazilian trade balance posted a US$ 572 million surplus in the beginning of October, as informed today (10) by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. In the first week of the month, exports stood at US$ 5.4 billion, at an average of US$ 1.80 billion per working day. Imports stood at US$ 4.828 billion, at an average of US$ 965.6 million per working day.
From January until the first week of October, a period which comprised 194 working days, the trade surplus reached US$ 23.606 billion, 81.2% more than in the same period of 2010, comprising 189 working days (US$ 13.030 billion). In the comparison based on the average surplus per working day, there was an increase of 76.5% year-on-year.
Year-to-date as of the first week of October, exports stood at US$ 195.4 billion, at an average of US$ 1.007 billion per working day. Imports stood at US$ 171.794 billion, at a daily average of US$ 885.5 million.
