São Paulo – Brazilian exports were down 1.8% year-to-date through the end of the second week of October, according to figures released by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade this Monday (14th). In the same period of 2012, Brazil posted US$ 190.3 billion in revenues, as against US$ 188.5 billion this year.
In the second week of October, exports stood at US$ 4.8 billion, averaging at US$ 973.3 million a day, down 35.9% from the first week, when exports of oil drilling and exploration rigs caused revenues to soar. By the end of the second week of October, the country had exported the equivalent of US$ 10.9 billion, of which US$ 6 billion concern the first week.
