São Paulo – Revenues with vehicle exports in Brazil grew 28.1% in September as against the same month last year, according to figures disclosed on Friday (4) by the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea). Revenues generated US$ 1.43 billion last month, as against US$ 1.12 billion in September 2012. Over August, foreign sales dropped 14.6% as they had totalled US$ 1.68 billion.
The figures include vehicle and automotive agricultural machinery trade. In the accumulated result for the year, revenues with exports of carmakers installed in Brazil totalled US$ 12.4 billion and recorded growth of 13.4% over the first nine months of last year, when they had totalled US$ 10.9 billion. Of the total revenues up to September, US$ 8.7 billion refer to international sales of vehicles and US$ 2.2 billion for agricultural machinery.
Brazilian vehicle production reached 332,000 units in September, with growth of 15.2% over the same month in 2012, when production had totalled 288,000 cars. Over August there was a reduction of 2.5%, as the carmakers in the country produced 340,500 units in that month. In the accumulated result for the year up to September, assembly lines in the country issued 2.84 million vehicles, with growth of 13.9% over the same period in 2012.
The volume of vehicles licensed in the country dropped 5.9% in September as against August. As against September last year, there was a reduction of 7.6%. In absolute figures, sales totalled 309,800 cars in September, as against 329,100 in the previous month and 288,000 in September last year. In the accumulated figure for the year, licensing dropped 0.3%.
