Brasília – The Brazilian balance of trade posted a deficit in the third week of the month, from the 12th to the 18th. During the period, the different between exports and imports was negative by US$ 108 million.
The country exported the equivalent of US$ 3.292 billion and imported the equivalent of US$ 3.400 billion. Average exports per working day totalled US$ 658.4 million and imports, US$ 680 million.
As a result, the year-to-date surplus is now US$ 1.574 billion, and the daily average per working day is US$ 21.9 million. The figures represent a decrease of 66.2% and 65.7%, respectively, when compared with the same period of 2009.
