São Paulo – Brazil exported 3,889 bicycles from January to September, an increase of 5.4% in comparison to the same period of last year, according to data made available this Friday (14) by the Brazilian Association of Motorcycle, Moped and Bicycle Manufacturers (Abraciclo).
Foreign sales revenues totaled USD 334,000, up 18% in the same comparison, according to data from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC). The main destinations were Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay.
On the other hand, the country imported 99,977 units in the first nine months of the year, a decline of 49% over the same period of 2015.
According to Abraciclo, its member companies produced 450,848 bicycles in Brazil from January to September, a decline of 14.2% over last year’s first nine months.
In September, 63,443 bicycles were manufactured, down 20.9% in comparison to the same month of 2015.
