Historian Arlene Clemesha will speak on the views of western countries on the Middle East and the relations of the Arab world with democracy. The event takes place on September 8th, at 7 PM, at the Arab Chamber, in São Paulo.

The dramatic reading of ‘The welcome of the emperor’ (direct translation) is inspired in the trip D. Pedro II to Lebanon in 1876 and the immigration that followed. The play will be staged on September 29th in São Paulo.
Brazilian researcher living in Lebanon, Roberto Khatlab releases this week his work that presents studies and annotations by the emperor about the countries visited in 1871 and 1876.

The 10th Arab World Film Festival will be in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and Vitória. The event mixes movies with literature, music and theater in around 100 screenings. The opening is on August 12th.
