He stayed to fulfil what he calls a mission: to keep alive the Arab culture amongst the immigrants, their sons and grandsons. Nasr was responsible for the translation of the Koran from Arabic to Portuguese.
Leaders in the Islamic and Arab communities heard by ANBA believe that the official version of the Koran in the Portuguese language will serve as a reference both for Muslims as for people of other beliefs.
