Brazilian agribusiness sales to foreign countries generated US$ 91.41 billion in revenues from January to November. The sector accounts for the country’s trade surplus.

In the Brazilian Mid-South, 479.3 million tonnes of sugarcane have been processed from January 1st to November 15th, a figure 9% lower than in the same period of the last crop.

The increment took place over a eight-year period, and FAO forecasts indicate that from 2012 onward, more than half the fish consumed will originate from aquaculture rather than sea fishing.
From January to October, Brazilian coffee exports generated US$ 7 billion in revenues. Last month alone, foreign sales reached US$ 871 million.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations says, however, that the cost in October is higher than that recorded in the same period last year.
Agriculture Ministers of the bloc promoted a meeting this week, in China. The program establishes measures to be adopted from 2012 to 2016. The objective is to strengthen global production.
Foreign sales of the grain should total 1.2 million tonnes in this crop due to the lower production and higher global offer. In the last crop, 2.5 million tonnes were exported.
