Unstable weather in 2010 and the advanced age of cane crops affected sugarcane production in São Paulo, but crops in other states compensated the losses. Foreign sugar demand is on the rise.

Brazil exported the equivalent of US$ 647.6 million in March. Rising revenues attest to year-on-year price increase, considering that the volume shipped only grew by 1.3%.
