There was growth in beef cattle slaughter in the second quarter this year compared with the first three months. The state of Mato Grosso accounted for the largest share of production, with 13.6%.

The rate of productivity of agriculture in the country rose on average 2% from 1960 to 2005. Brazil overtook China and the United States as a result of agricultural policy and private investment.

The region imported 915,000 bags of coffee from Brazil between January and August, according to figures supplied by the Brazilian Coffee Exporter Council. Revenues totalled US$ 111 million.
The announcement was made today by the Abef after consulting with the Brazilian ambassador in Riyadh, Sérgio Luiz Canaes. According to the organization, Saudis trust the Brazilian product’s quality.
