External sales in the sector increased by 3.8% in February this year in comparison to the same month in 2005. The products that had greater impact in the performance were tobacco, pulp and paper, leather, coffee and meats. Meat exports increased by 6%.

Agência Brasil São Paulo- Exports of chicken in January reached 213,700 tons, up 14% when compared to January 2005. Even better news was that the revenue reached almost US$ 281 million, up 41.5%.
