Students and professors of teaching institutions in the city met yesterday at the event about culture and the Arab world promoted by the Jerusalem Institute of Brazil in the city of Campinas, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. Now the idea is also to discuss the theme in colleges.

Among them a presentation by the secretary general of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Michel Alaby, who is going to address the economic potential of the region. The event will also count on the presence of politicians, academics and businessmen and will include presentations of folkloric dance.

The former received the award for book "Cinzas do Norte" (Ashes of the Amazon) and the latter for his Portuguese translation of The Thousand and One Nights.
