A press release issued this Monday (22nd) says the local government faces wage bill, balance of payments and international reserve maintenance issues. The country is also plagued by an energy crisis.

The budget to be sent to the president’s approval allocates 49% of public spending to social programs in the 2015/2016 fiscal year that starts in July, and expects a 5% GDP growth.

An International Monetary Fund delegation says the country is evolving economically and forecasts growth over the next few years, with the caveat that the country must not rely on donations as much.

São Paulo-based hair products company Sweet Hair already exported to the UAE and now it has inked distribution deals for Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia. There are plans to break into Lebanon and Morocco too.
