Brasília – The Brazilian Central Bank expects inflation, whose measure is the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), to be 4% this year. The information was made public this Thursday (30) in Brasília.
The estimate is based on financial market projections for interest rates and exchange rates. If it proves true, the forecast will be lower than 4.5%, the midpoint of the 3%-to-6% target range.
In 2018, inflation is expected to match the midpoint at 4.5%. In the 12 months through March 2019, the forecast is 4.6%.
