São Paulo – As trading ended this Tuesday (21) in Brazil, the US dollar was selling for BRL 4.049, its highest price since February 18, 2016. The US currency gained 2.01% over Monday, and 4.4% in the five trading days through Monday.
Ibovespa, the main index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa), slid 1.5% to 75,180 points, its lowest since July 11. Large companies’ shares played a part, with Petrobras losing 3.49% and Itaú down 1.2%.
