São Paulo – From March 15 to 24, Egypt will host the 50th Cairo International Fair. The multi-industry event features manufacturers of products including foodstuffs, home appliances, automobiles and trucks.
The trade show will feature 650 companies from 13 different countries, in 10 national pavilions. “The developments the Cairo international fair has witnessed during last years, the expansion of exhibiting space year after year and the increased participation of Arab and foreign countries in the fair’s activities assures Egypt’s importance on the world exhibition’s map,” a statement from the expo organizers quoted Trade and Industry minister Tarek Kabil as saying.
To the minister, the growing momentum for the event also reflects Egypt’s relevance and attractiveness to producers, traders and investors, “thanks to its expansion, location, engagement with several markets within the frame work of many FTAs signed between Egypt and different economic blocs.”
Last month, Kabil said the Ministry intends to increase Egypt’s exports from USD 18.5 billion in 2015 to USD 30 billion to USD 34 billion by 2020.
Brazil is one of the countries whose trade deals with Egypt could grow. In 2016, it imported USD 94.36 million worth of goods from Egypt, a 12.77% drop over 2015.
