São Paulo – Embraer ended 2010 having delivered 246 jets. Of this total, 92 were delivered in the last quarter of the year, being 30 to the commercial aviation market, 61 for executive aviation and one for the defence sector. The firm order backlog ended the year at US$ 15.6 billion. The value is 2% greater than that registered in late September.
According to a company press statement, last year the commercial aviation market showed great recovery and gradually returned to business. As a result, Embraer signed contracts for the sale of 97 new jets.
In the defence sector, Embraer announced the sixth agreement for definition of partnerships for the KC-390 program (for a cargo plane also to promote refuelling missions). Still according to the press statement, negotiations with the Argentine market may result in the sale of six military transport aircraft, which would take the total number of aircraft currently in negotiation to 60.
Embraer signed agreements with Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Portugal and the Czech Republic in the third quarter. The company also closed the sale of Super Tucano aircraft to Asia Pacific, having won a tender for the supply of eight light attack aircraft to the Indonesian air force. The delivery of the aeroplanes should begin in 2012.
