São Paulo – From January 19 to 21, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturing company Embraer will participate in the second edition of the Bahrain International Air Show, due in the Sakhir air base, in Bahrain. During the event, the company will promote its full line of commercial aircraft, and it will also showcase the Embraer 175 jet to visitors.
“The Kingdom of Bahrain is a very important market for Embraer, and we are proud of our successful partnership with Gulf Air, which has been an E-Jet operator since 2010,” said Mathieu Duquesnoy, Embraer’s Commercial Aviation director for the Middle East and Africa, according to a statement issued by the company.
Embraer entered the Middle Eastern market in 2005, as Saudi Arabian Airlines began operating an Embraer 170. Ever since, the company’s presence has grown in the Arab countries. The company received orders for 66 E-Jets (commercial jets) in the region.
According to Embraer, its four E-Jet models, with capacities ranging from 70 to 122 passengers, are the most widely used in domestic Middle Eastern routes, and are operated by ten different airlines, servicing 150 routes in the region.
The first edition of the Bahrain International Air Show took place in 2010. The event featured 40 exhibitors, 94 aircraft models, and was visited by delegations from 25 different countries. The show resulted in US$ 1 billion worth of deals.
