São Paulo – The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) presented business opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa to micro and small businesses in Rio de Janeiro. During Sebrae Global Experience on Friday (3), the ABCC’s senior international business consultant, Gustavo Fasanaro, delivered the presentation “Connecting Companies to New Markets: Paths to Internationalization” and took part in business matchmaking sessions to promote Arab countries as potential markets for Brazilian products.
Organized by Rio de Janeiro’s Sebrae, which promotes the competitiveness of small businesses, the event showed local entrepreneurs that even small businesses can expand internationally and export their products and services.
The event featured panels and presentations on topics including the transformation of global trade, e-commerce strategies, and strategic sectors and markets. Success stories were also presented to a broad audience of entrepreneurs, including manufacturers of durable goods such as footwear and providers of services such as artificial intelligence solutions.
During his presentation, Fasanaro highlighted Arab countries as promising markets for exporters of products and services. He showed that companies can diversify their exports beyond China and the United States. At the same time, he noted that one of the main challenges for businesses is choosing a target market and then gaining a thorough understanding of its demand and regulations.
“It is important to raise awareness among this audience because today’s micro and small businesses can become tomorrow’s large companies, and they should develop this entrepreneurial mindset early on. They also know they can count on the ABCC from the very beginning of their internationalization journey,” Fasanaro said.
He also served as moderator for one of the business matchmaking sessions, where he provided guidance to Brazilian entrepreneurs offering products and services.
