According to information from the monetary authority, the deficit was caused mainly by the financial sector’s performance, which means the results of investments in securities, remittance of profits and dividends and foreign direct investments. Using this calculation, US$ 2.325 billion (net value) left the country.
In the commercial segment, in which exchange operations related to exports and imports are taken into account, the result was US$ 80 million negative.
