São Paulo – Brazilian exports have reached US$ 57.9 billion in the first hundred business days of 2007, recorded until the end of the fourth week of May, according to information supplied by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. During this period, imports totalled US$ 41.573 billion, which results in a positive trade balance of US$ 16.390 billion.
Compared with the same period last year – from January until the fourth week of May – exports increased by 20.1%. In the same period of 2006, exports totalled US$ 48.270 billion. Imports grew by 25.8% during the period in 2007: in 2006, they amounted to US$ 33.048 billion. The information was supplied by the Ministry of Development.
