São Paulo – Food prices have remained stable in Brazil for the third straight month in November, says a report released this Thursday (4th) by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
The FAO’s price index for major food commodities reached 192.6 points in November, down 6.4% from November 2013. In September and October, the index stood at 192.7 points. The higher the index, the costlier the foods are.
The index covers several products across five food groups. Dairy prices were down 3.4% in November from October, sugar prices were down 3.2%, cereal prices were up 2.6%, vegetable oils were up 0.7%, and meats remained flat at 210.4 points.
