Rio de Janeiro – The Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the sum of all wealth produced by the country, rose 0.87% in the quarter ending in April in comparison to the three-month period that ended in January, according to the GDP Monitor of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). The data was made public this Wednesday (21) in Rio de Janeiro. However, when compared to the three-period ending in April 2016, there was a decline of 0.8%.
In the comparison to the same three-month period of last year, there were decreases in household consumption (-1.9%) and gross fixed capital formation, that is, investments (-4.6%). Exports increased 1.4% in the period. And imports also rose (4.5%).
