São Paulo – The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil, Carlos Fávaro, will be in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from Saturday (29) to Thursday (3) to promote sustainable production in Brazilian agribusiness with investors. The minister leads a delegation comprising senators and 26 businesspeople from the areas of animal protein, agricultural investments, halal certification, technology, and the ministry’s technical staff.

According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, it has been carrying out an international promotion agenda for the intensification of sustainable production in Brazil, aiming at attracting foreign investments from sovereign wealth funds for environmental sustainability actions, such as the recovery of low productivity pasture areas, which reflects in carbon capture and production of more food without deforestation.
In Saudi Arabia, Fávaro’s schedule includes meeting with the Environment, Water, and Agriculture minister, Abdulrahman Al-Fadley. The business program includes seminars and meetings with Saudi companies. The delegation will also meet with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).
In the UAE, the program includes meetings with the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), investment funds Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and Abu Dhabi Investment Council, a business seminar with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), and a meeting with agribusiness company Al Dahra representatives. The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce(ABCC) supports the business schedule in both countries.
The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture informed it took the group of business people on the mission given the resumption of fraternal ties and good diplomatic relations between Brazil and the world with, as its primary aspect, the strengthening of partnerships, technical cooperation, and expansion of the trade flow between the countries. “The business groups participating in the mission can demonstrate aspects of their areas of activity and market capabilities,” informed the Ministry.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE were, in that order, the leading destinations for Brazilian exports in this year’s aggregate until June among Arab markets.
