Brasília – The Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (ICEI) slid to 51.9 points in June, a 1.8 drop over May. This came as the first turn for the worse since a four-month plateau, the National Federation of Industry (CNI) said.
CNI said the country is still struggling to make its way out of the crisis. “Since it is still above the 50-point threshold, the ICEI reveals that business owners remain confident, although their confidence eased somewhat in June from May,” CNI said in a report issued Thursday (22).
The index ranges from zero to 100, with scores higher than 50 showing confidence. CNI noted that the June score is not good enough to warrant industrial investments.
