São Paulo – Increased visitation led to an increase in tourism revenues in Jordan from January to July this year. According to the Central Bank, the country posted revenues of 1.5 billion dinars, equivalent to US$ 2.1 billion, from tourism in the first half this year. In the same period of 2011, revenues stood at 1.2 billion dinars, equivalent to US$ 1.6 billion.
According to information from new agency Petra, revenues were up this year due to increased tourist inflow from the United States, Libya, Yemen and Iraq. In July alone, tourist inflow was up 9.1%.
