A bureaucratic problem was barring Brazilian exports of thermo processed products in the sector to the Arab country. The theme was discussed during a visit by a Brazilian trade delegation to Algiers.

Classics such as Egypt aside, travel agencies are betting on new destinations to attract Brazilian tourists to the Arab world, including Abu Dhabi, in the Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.

The Arab Brazilian Chamber will take part in a workshop on international market opportunities next Friday. The event is free and targets foreign trade and international relations professionals.

Brazilian sales to the Middle East and North Africa totalled US$ 1.21 billion in August. Saudi, Egypt and the Emirates were the main destinations. This year, shipments have reached US$ 7.3 billion.
