A survey disclosed today by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation shows that the sector’s growth projection for 2010-2012 is 23.8%, a figure higher than last year’s 2008-2010 forecast, which was 21.2%.

Despite the crisis, the state-owned oil company ended last year with a net profit of US$ 16.1 billion. From January until December 2009, the total output of oil and natural gas equivalent rose by 5%.

Paintings by deceased Brazilian artist Antonio Bandeira will remain on display at Maison de L’Unesco, in the French capital, from March 30th onwards. He is known as a master of abstract painting.
