São Paulo – Brazilian leather exports totalled US$ 158.8 million in November, with a shipped volume of 26,500 tonnes. The value represents a reduction of 5% in revenues in comparison with October, but rose 21% as against November 2010. The figures were disclosed on Thursday (15) by the Confederation of Brazilian Hides and Skins Industries (CICB).
In the eleven full months of this year, shipments generated US$ 1.88 billion, growth of 19% over the same period in 2010, although the volume dropped 1%.
In the eleven months of 2011, the main destinations for Brazilian leather were China, Hong Kong, Italy and the United States. The CICB also pointed out shipments to Germany, South Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, Hungary, Portugal, Uruguay and Spain.
