São Paulo – Sensualle, an underwear fashion company based in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro state, wants to resume exports to Arab countries. The company made its last sales to the region approximately two years ago and would like to regain the market, according to sales manager Eric Gouvêa Aguiar. “It’s a very promising market”, says Aguiar, based on information he has about the high sales of lingerie in the region.
Sensualle exported, during two to three years, to the Arab market, but in less quantity. They already shipped to Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Aguiar explained that Brazilian lingerie is well accepted abroad because it’s not as large as the European one and not too small. They are average size and sensual pieces, according to him.
And sensuality is exactly the focus of Sensualle. It produces specially bras and panties, but the company also makes nightgowns, men’s underwear, corsets, long pajamas, garters, among other items. Their lingerie are sold in department stores.
One of the appealing factors of Sensualle is that all its pieces are one-size-fits-all, but which can be regulated to a smaller or bigger size by the customers themselves.
The international market is responsible for 30 to 40% of what is manufactured by the company. The most regular buyers abroad, come from ten countries. Among them, the biggest markets are United States, Germany and United Kingdom. And the majority are store owners, but the pieces are also bought by wholesalers.
The company plans to expand its exports this year, since the exchange rate is more favorable to sell in the international market. For this, they are counting on the participation in two international fairs, one in the United States and other in Germany.
Sensualle is a small size company. It produces its whole collection in the plant located in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro state. The production reaches 35,000 to 40,000 pieces monthly.
