Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s oil and gas output hit a record for the third consecutive month in August, according to data released this Monday (3) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
Oil and natural gas output stood at 3.293 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, a new record against the previous one set on July 2016 with 3.21 million barrels per day.
In August, oil output reached 2.609 million barrels per day, an increase of 1.1% in comparison to the 2.581 million produced in the previous month. Against August of last year, there was a 2.4% increase.
Meanwhile, natural gas output reached 108.8 million cubic meters (m3/d) per day, breaking the previous record of 107.2 million cubic meters set in July of this year, which, in its turn, had been 1.5% larger than June’s. When compared to August of last year, output grew 9.6%.
