São Paulo – Damaskinos Mansour, the metropolitan archbishop of the Orthodox Church of Antioch for São Paulo and Brazil, paid a visit to the new headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce this Friday (12). He was welcomed by executives and board members.
The Arab Chamber opened its new address approximately 15 days ago in Edifício Santa Catarina, a building on São Paulo’s Paulista Avenue. The archbishop was accompanied by the assistant archdiocesan bishop Romanós Daoud and by monsignor Dimitrios Attarian.
The new office space was designed by architect and urban designer Ruy Ohtake, spanning two floors of the building. The 10th floor houses the Arab Chamber’s operational area, and the 11th floor comprises events areas, an auditorium, a hall, a prayer room, and a museum. Ohtake worked with a concept of round-shaped central areas flanked by the rest of the premises.
Damaskinos Mansour was welcomed by the Arab Chamber president Rubens Hannun, Management Council chairman Walid Yazigi, CEO Michel Alaby, and by former presidents Orlando Sarhan, Antonio Sarkis Júnior, and Salim Schahin.
Also welcoming the prelate were Administrative vice president Adel Auada, Foreign Trade vice president Ruy Carlos Cury, International Relations vice president Osmar Chohfi, treasurer Nahid Chicani, and board member Sami Roumieh, as well as other Arab Brazilian Chamber executives. Damaskinos gave a present to the organization.
