São Paulo – Project Lebanon, a building sector fair to take place in Beirut, Lebanon, from June 5th to 8th, is accepting enrolment of Brazilian companies interested in exhibiting their products and services. Participation by companies in the country is promoted by the Foreign Ministry, the embassy of Brazil in Beirut and has the support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. The Brazilian space will cover 150 square meters and may receive up to 17 companies. Companies may register at the Arab Brazilian Chambers up to May 5th.
Lebanon has been living great expansion in the building sector, according to the Chamber’s CEO, Michel Alaby. “When I visited the Brazilian embassy in Beirut, from the embassy alone I could see 14 cranes,” said Alaby, who was in the Arab country in early March. According to the CEO, countries in the region are investing in Lebanon, among them the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Turkey. The country aims to become a reference in tourism in the Middle East and is investing in the sector, as well as in infrastructure and transportation, among others.
Alaby believes that for Brazilian companies there is mainly space in the sale of building material, flooring and tiles, granite and marble, wood and insulation material. The fair, however, covers several sectors, from engineering services to production of energy and electricity, infrastructure, water resources, machinery, adhesives, sealers and paints, pipes and fittings and also practices in green building.
The CEO stated that, apart from exhibition at the fair, Brazilian companies registered should have a parallel agenda, with visits to building material distribution centres, shops and also to the main importers in the country. The Arab Brazilian Chamber, apart from receiving registration, should be responsible for preparing a catalogue on the building industry in Brazil as well as folders with a small profile of each company participating, for distribution of samples, in English and Arabic.
The stands that are being offered to Brazilian companies cover an area of 8.75 square meters and the participation fee is R$ 1,500 (US$ 820), excluding travel and hotel fees. The Chamber should send two professionals to assist exhibitors. Last year, nine companies participated, with good results. The last edition of the fair received 25,000 visitors.
