Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s services sector saw 1% growth in April from March, after a 2.6% drop in March from February as per seasonally adjusted figures. The April result is the best for the month since the sector showed 2.1% growth in April 2013.
The numbers are from the Monthly Survey of Services (Pesquisa Mensal de Serviços – PMS) released this Wednesday (14) in Rio de Janeiro by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Despite the growth in April, the sector shrank by 4.9% in the four months through April.
