São Paulo – Sudan is developing its industry and is willing to export to Brazil. One of the products that might be sold is Arabic gum. The information was provided by the assistant manager for Research and Information at the Union of Sudanese Chambers of Commerce, Ali Mohamed A. Hassan Abusin, who received today (31), at the headquarters of the organization, the operations manager at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Rodrigo Solano. He is in Sudan attending the 24th Khartoum International Fair, currently taking place in the capital of the Arab country, and scheduled to end next Friday (2).
Brazil already imports Arabic gum from Sudan, but not in very large quantities. Abusin claimed that a closer relation between the Arab Brazilian Chamber and the Sudanese organization is important right now, at a time when the Arab country is beginning to develop and to seek partners for exports and imports. He said Sudan might purchase Brazilian information technology products, pharmaceuticals and auto parts, for instance.
The Union of Sudanese Chambers of Commerce includes organizations representing exporters, importers, wholesalers, retailers and service providers. The Union was established in 1908, and its mission is to gather and disclose data about trade in Sudan, to provide guidance to institutions interested in the Sudanese economy, to maintain relations with other chambers of commerce, to settle arbitration cases and commercial disputes, and to cater to the business needs of the organizations it represents.
