Rio de Janeiro – The Scandinavian Steel group has announced it will build a steel mill in the state of Rio de Janeiro, which has given the group tax breaks.
According to spokesmen for the state Secretariat of Energy, Shipbuilding and Petroleum, some US$5 million will be invested in the endeavor. When it is ready the mill will produce over 13,000 tons of titanium annually and employee 500 workers.
