Average price of the tonne of beef shipped from Brazil in March was 4.5% lower than a year ago. Beef industry group Abrafrigo reported that the United Arab Emirates was the third leading destination of the product.

The region reduced its share in Minerva’s exports from Brazil and grew in sales of the subsidiary Athena, which encompasses operations in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile and Colombia.
Egypt increased imports by 17.5% year-to-date, while the UAE acquired almost four times more, Abrafrigo reported.
The region accounted for 31% of the meat company’s foreign sales between April 2017 and March of this year.
