São Paulo – Brazilian trade balance closed the third week of June at a surplus of US$ 585 million. During the period, exports amounted to US$ 4.334 billion, and averaged at 1.083 billion per working day. As regards imports, they amounted to US$ 3.749 billion, and averaged at US$ 937.3 million per day.
Brazil has posted an increase of 18.7% on the daily average of foreign sales of basic goods, when compared to the first two weeks of the month, especially soy beans, iron ore, crude oil and chicken. Semi-manufactured exports have also had an increase, 17.3%, while external sales of manufactured goods were down 7.8%.
Overall, the imports of the third week of June showed a growth of 10.8% in relation to the first two weeks, by the daily average. The most purchased products in Brazil were fuels and lubricants, mechanical equipment, electronic equipment, car and car parts, and plastic and plastic works.
