São Paulo – Tunisia’s trade balance deficit reached TND 9.326 billion (USD 4.179 billion) from January to September, an increase of 0.6% over the same period of last year, according to data made available by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and published by news agency Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).
Tunisian exports went up 3.1% in the period, with significant contributions from the ore and phosphate sectors, which registered numbers three times higher than in the first nine months of 2015.
On the other hand, imports increased 2.3%, driven by purchases of inputs, semi-finished products and capital goods.
