São Paulo – The United Arab Emirates have approved food safety certificates on livestock imports from Brazil. The Embassy of the UAE in Brasília reported that the Food Safety Form concerning the sale of cows and buffaloes from Brazil to the Arab country has been authorized.
Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) secretary-general Tamer Mansour said the certificate means Brazil will be able to supply large numbers of buffaloes and bovines for breeding, slaughter and dairy farming purposes. Livestock has been sold from Brazil to the UAE in the past, but in small amounts and for breeding and genetic experimentation purposes.
